Noise Emissions and Traffic Volumes in Road Traffic (Road Sections)
The dataset contains the calculated noise emissions (Lre for day and night) and the underlying traffic volumes for the Swiss road network (approx. 45,000 km) for the year 2021. The data is based on the sonROAD18 emissions model and include parameters such as the signposted speed, traffic volume by vehicle type (Swiss10), road surface type, and gradient. The traffic data for 2021 were derived using the National Passenger Transport Model (NPTM) of the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE).
The noise emissions serve as the basis for the nationwide noise immission calculations in sonBASE 2021.
The data are intended exclusively for statistical information at national and regional level and are not legally bindin. Binding information on noise exposure and noise abatement is provided by the respective enforcement authorities: for national roads by the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO), for main and other roads by the cantonal enforcement authorities.
