Die Vegetationshöhenstufen pro Waldregion basieren auf einer geometrischen Verschneidung der Vegetationshöhenstufen mit den Waldregionen. Die Einteilung der beiden Datensätze orientiert sich weitgehend an den Vorgaben des Schwyzer Waldbuchs «Mehr als nur Bäume» von Hans-Ulrich Frey (2022).
