VECTOR25 Road network
The layer road network (abbreviation "str") from VECTOR25 includes the entire road- and pathnetwork of the National Map 1:25'000. The road classification (kind of object) corresponds to the map legend. For this reason the foreign classification (e.g. "Wirtweg" or "route étroite") was used for the adjoining French and German territory. The roads form a line network: road sections (edges) which cross at the same level have a common node. Basically, this allows a route search. Oriented road classifications which can only be traveled in one direction (e.g. freeway entrance) are stored as such. The remaining traffic regulations (one-way streets, no turns, prohibited to traffic) are not taken into account in VECTOR25. Roads going through tunnels or over bridges are attributed respectively. The attribute "HikingType" identifies the official marked trails (Swiss Hiking Federation).
