Für die Schweiz wurden landesweite Vegetationshöhenmodelle (VHM) auf der Grundlage von Copernicus Sentinel-2-Bildern und dem digitalen Geländemodell (DTM) swissALTI3D des Schweizer Bundesamtes für Landestopografie swisstopo erstellt. Ein Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-Modell wurde trainiert, um die maximale Vegetationshöhe mit der räumlichen Auflösung des Sentinel-2-Pixels von 10 m zu schätzen. Als Referenzdaten für das CNN-Training wurden Vegetationshöhen aus dem räumlich höher aufgelösten VHM Lidar NFI verwendet. Im Rahmen der Schweizerischen Landesforstinventur (NFI) wurden die VHM jährlich auf der Grundlage der verfügbaren Sentinel-2-Bilder von Mai bis September des jeweiligen Jahres modelliert. Des modèles de hauteur de végétation (MHV) à l'échelle nationale ont été générés pour la Suisse à partir des images Copernicus Sentinel-2 et du modèle numérique de terrain (MNT) swissALTI3D de l'Office fédéral de topographie swisstopo. Un modèle de réseau neuronal convolutif (CNN) a été entraîné pour estimer la hauteur maximale de la végétation à la résolution spatiale du pixel Sentinel-2 de 10 m. Les hauteurs de végétation issues du MHV Lidar IFN, dont la résolution spatiale est plus élevée, ont été utilisées comme données de référence pour l'entraînement du CNN. Dans le cadre de l'Inventaire forestier national suisse (IFN), les MHV ont été modélisés chaque année à partir des images Sentinel-2 disponibles entre mai et septembre de l'année correspondante. I modelli di altezza della vegetazione (MAV) a livello nazionale sono stati generati per la Svizzera sulla base delle immagini Copernicus Sentinel-2 e del modello digitale del terreno (DTM) swissALTI3D dell'Ufficio federale di topografia swisstopo. È stato addestrato un modello di rete neurale convoluzionale (CNN) per stimare l'altezza massima della vegetazione alla risoluzione spaziale del pixel Sentinel-2 di 10 m. Countrywide vegetation height models (VHM) were generated for Switzerland based on Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery and the digital terrain model (DTM) swissALTI3D from the Swiss Federal Office of Topography swisstopo. A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model was trained to estimate the maximum vegetation height at the spatial resolution of the Sentinel-2 pixel of 10 m. Vegetation heights from the spatially higher-resolved VHM Lidar NFI were used as reference data for the CNN training.
