The Structural Business Statistics (STATENT) have been providing annually updated information on establishments, employment and economic activities according to NOGA (General Classification of Economic Activities). The data come from registers. The geodata are aggregated by hectare and by municipality. The Structural Business Statistics replaced the Federal Business Census from 2011 onwards..

Purpose

The Structural Business Statistics (STATENT) aim to provide statistical data and geodata on the structure of businesses and establishments in Switzerland. They make it possible to collect and update economic, social and geographical information on establishments, employment and economic activities on an annual basis.

Geodata description of the structural business statistics

Statement

Die Geokodierungen der Eidgenössischen Betriebszählungen umfassen alle mit einer gesamtschweizerisch eindeutigen BUR-Nummer identifizierten Arbeitsstätten. Durch die Geokodierung wird jede Arbeitsstätte mit einem Gebäude im Eidgenössischen Gebäude- und Wohnungsregister (GWR) verknüpft. Die Koordinaten des Gebäudes im GWR werden danach der Arbeitsstätte zugeteilt.

For the productive agricultural sector, data collection is carried out by coordinating administrative data within the framework of the Direct Payments Ordinance.
