Zu den flüchtigen organischen Verbindungen VOC zählen verschiedene künstliche organische Substanzen, wie z.B. monozyklische aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe MAKW oder flüchtige halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe FHKW. MAKW und FHKW werden unter anderem als Lösungsmittel, Kühlmittel oder Rohstoff in Industrie und Gewerbe eingesetzt und verarbeitet. Auch in Treibstoffen sind VOC enthalten. Ins Grundwasser können diese Substanzen einerseits bei Produktion, Transport und Lagerung und andererseits bei ihrem Gebrauch sowie ihrer Entsorgung gelangen. Gemäss Gewässerschutzverordung GSchV soll im Grundwasser die Konzentration monozyklischer aromatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe und flüchtiger halogenierter Kohlenwasserstoffe einen Wert von 1 Mikrogramm/l nicht überschreiten. Die Konzentration verschiedener flüchtiger organischer Verbindungen im Grundwasser der Schweiz wird auf Landesebene im Rahmen der Nationalen Grundwasserbeobachtung NAQUA erfasst. Das Messnetz der Nationalen Grundwasserbeobachtung umfasst mehr als 500 Messstellen und wird vom BAFU in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Kantonen betrieben. Au nombre des composés organiques volatils (COV) on compte plusieurs substances organiques d’origine anthropique, p. ex. les hydrocarbures monocycliques aromatiques ou les hydrocarbures halogénés volatils. Ces derniers sont notamment employés comme solvants, réfrigérants ou comme matières premières dans des processus industriels et artisanaux. Les COV entrent également dans la composition des carburants. Ils peuvent polluer les eaux souterraines aussi bien lors de leur production, transport ou stockage, que lors de leur emploi et de leur élimination. S’agissant des hydrocarbures monocycliques aromatiques et des hydrocarbures halogénés volatils, l’ordonnance sur la protection des eaux (OEaux) exige de respecter une concentration maximale de 1 microgrammes/l par substance dans les eaux souterraines. Plusieurs COV font ainsi l’objet d’un suivi dans toute la Suisse par l’Observation nationale des eaux souterraines NAQUA. Le réseau de l’Observation nationale des eaux souterraines regroupe plus de 500 stations de mesure. Il est géré par la Confédération, en étroite collaboration avec les cantons. I composti organici volatili comprendono diverse sostanze organiche artificiali, come ad esempio gli idrocarburi aromatici monociclici o gli idrocarburi alogenati volatili (VOX), impiegati e lavorati fra l’altro nell’ambito di attività industriali e artigianali sia come sol-venti o sostanze refrigeranti sia come materia prima. I COV sono presenti anche nei carburanti. Finiscono nelle acque sotterranee da un lato in seguito a produzione, trasporto e deposito e dall’altro a causa del loro impiego e smaltimento. Secondo l’ordinanza sulla protezione delle acque (OPAc) le concentrazioni nelle acque sotterranee sia degli idrocarburi aroma-tici monociclici che degli idrocarburi alogenati volatili non devono essere superiori a 1 microgrammi/l.Le concentrazioni nelle acque sotterranee della Svizzera di diversi composti organici volatili sono rilevati nell’ambito dell’Osservazione nazionale delle acque sot-terranee NAQUA. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) include various organic substances, such as monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (MAH) and volatile halogenated hydrocarbons (VHH). MAHs and VHHs are used and processed as solvents, coolants or raw materials in industry and commerce. Fuels also contain VOCs. These substances can enter groundwater through production, transport and storage processes or even when they are used or removed. Under the Waters Protection Ordi-nance (WPO), concentrations of monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in groundwater should not exceed 1 micrograms/l. Concentrations of various volatile organic compounds in Swiss groundwater are recorded as part of the NAQUA National Groundwater Monitoring program.
