Der Datensatz enthält Bestandesheinheiten mit ähnlicher Vegetationshöhe. Er basiert auf dem Vegetationshöhenmodell, das aus den LiDAR-Daten erstellt wurde. Mittels räumlicher Glättung durch morphologische Filter wurden Bestandeseinheiten ausgeschieden, die in ihrer Vegetationshöhe ähnlich sind. Eine Bestandeseinheit hat eine Mindestgrösse von 20 Aren. Forststrassen und Waldeigentumsgrenzen dienen als Bestandesgrenzen.
