SilvaProtect-CH (hazard information at national level): Overbank sedimentation
Overbank sedimentation is the deposition of solids (detritus and coarse gravel) by flowing water outside of channels, usually in the vicinity of the alluvial cones of torrents. This layer contains a general hazard index map of potential overbank sedimentation areas based on the modelling of the overbank sedimentation process carried out by the SilvaProtect-CH project.The modelling of the overbank sedimentation does not take the effect of forests into account.
