Frostkarte
Die Frostkarten zeigen auf, in welchen Gebieten mit Frost gerechnet werden muss und welche Gebiete frostfrei sind. Die Karte unterscheidet zwischen der normalen Spätfrostzone (2-3 mal Frost in 10 Jahren) und der extremen Spätfrostzone (Frost nur in absoluten Extremjahren).

Die Frostkarten finden trotz veränderter Klimaeinflüsse (mehr Westwindlagen) und statistisch gesunkener Frostgefahr bei der Beratung immer noch Anwendung, insbes. bei der Erstellung von Obstanlagen. Die Bedeutung der Frostzonen ist folgende: a) normale Spätfrostzone: 2 - 3 mal Frost in 10 Jahren, b) extreme Spätfrostzone: Frost nur in absoluten Extremjahren. Grundlage der Frostkarten war der extreme Spätfrost vom 1. Mai 1945. Die Grenze dieses Frostes wurde als "extreme Spätfrostgrenze" erfasst. Daraus und mit den Kenntnissen der örtlichen Gemeindebaumwärter wurde die normale Spätfrostgrenze abgeleitet.
