Die Karte stellt die Stärke der von Erdbeben ausgelösten Bodenbewegung dar. Die Linien in der Karte begrenzen Gebiete, in denen die angegebene Erdbeben-Intensität mit einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 0,001 pro Jahr auftritt. Die römischen Zahlen entsprechen den Intensitätsgraden der MSK-Skala: V (stark), VI (leichte Schäden möglich), VII (Schäden an Gebäuden), VIII (Zerstörungen an Gebäuden), IX (allgemeiner Gebäudeschaden).
