SG 95: Das neue Schweregrundnetz der Schweiz
Um ein genaueres und aktuelleres Netz von Schwerestationen zu erhalten, wurde 1991 ein neues Schweregrundnetz, SG 95, eingerichtet. Merkmale des SG 95 sind, dass erstmals in einem Schweregrundnetz der Schweiz sowohl hochpräzise Absolut- als auch Relativemessungen verwendet worden sind. Zudem ist das gesamte Netz mit Absolutstationen im benachbarten Ausland verbunden worden. Weiter stehen nun erstmals, mit den SG 95-Stationen, über die gesamte Schweiz verteilt, Punkte zur Verfügung, wo neben der Schwere auch die geodätischen Koordinaten hochgenau bekannt sind.

Für die Redaktion der Instrumentenhöhen wurde der Freiluftgradient mit einem aus dem DHM25 hergeleiteten Modell angenähert. Wo es fehlte, wurde der Gradient aus dem Höhenmodell RIMINI berechnet.
