Fokusareale
Fokusareale sind Areale unterschiedlicher Grösse im Siedlungsgebiet, in denen die Einwohner- und Beschäftigtenentwicklung (bekannt oder vermutet) überdurchschnittlich hoch ist. Sie tragen massgeblich zur Siedlungsverdichtung nach innen bei. Dies bedeutet auch, dass diese Gebiete ein überdurchschnittliches Verkehrsaufkommen generieren können.
Die Benennung eines Gebiets als Fokusareal wird durch das Amt für Mobilität (Abteilung Gesamtmobilität) in Abstimmung mit dem Amt für Raumentwicklung (ZH) im 2-jährlichen Rhytmus vorgenommen. Die Bezeichnung eines Gebiets als «Fokusareal» hat keinerlei planungs- und baurechtlichen Stellenwert.
