Die geografische Darstellung der bekannten Ambrosia-Fundorte hilft der Dokumentation, Übersicht und Bekämpfung von Ambrosia. Gemäss eidg. Verordnung über Pflanzenschutz ist Ambrosia seit dem 1. Juli 2006 als besonders gefährlicher, bekämpfungspflichtiger Schadorganismus eingestuft. Die Bewirtschafter der entsprechenden Grundstücke sind deshalb verpflichtet, Ambrosia gezielt zu bekämpfen und dadurch die Verbreitung von Ambrosia zu stoppen.
